Soap Introductions – Honey and Oatmeal

Honey and Oatmeal

My Honey and Oatmeal soap is now curing on the racks and it smells heavenly. I don’t use synthetic fragrances and use only natural essential oils. Since there is no honey or oatmeal oil I thought a good fragrance would be something warm, like oatmeal and bright golden like honey. I chose sweet orange and tangerine oils.

Honey Oatmeal All Natural Soap

The vegetable oils I use for this soap are my base of pure olive, coconut and palm. Then I add cocoa butter and sweet almond oil. Cocoa butter is well-known for its moisturizing and protective qualities. Many people use it straight on the skin to prevent stretch marks and to keep it moist. It gives a protective layer while not clogging pores or interfering with the skin’s natural processes. Sweet almond oil is conditioning to the skin and soap.

Oatmeal is added as a gentle exfoliant to help you brush off dirt and dead skin cells. Lastly the golden honey is added as an emollient to soothe and hydrate the skin.

The wonderful citrus fragrance is warm and comforting to the senses. The sweetness makes you happy and cheerful.

If I had to pick a usage for this bar I would say use it to cheer yourself anytime you are down. It is also good on cold, dreary days when you need a touch of sunshine. Honey and Oatmeal is a great pick as a gift when you aren’t sure what fragrance someone likes and is perfect for males and females.

All in all a very versatile bar and quite a pleasure to use.
