What’s Your Purpose?

Good Morning and Happy New Year!

Now that the new year is here there will be a lot of resolutions made. I have never made a new year’s resolution in my life but I have had rare moments where I resolved to do something or see a certain outcome and they were pretty powerful.

A while before the new year hit I resolved to be a more authentic me. I want to find my purpose, my special gift I was born with to give the world. I’m not really sure just what it is but I feel like a good deal of my life was spent avoiding it. So one way I plan on finding my purpose is to follow my intuition. That is why I started this blog. Writing was something that always called to me so I am just going to do it and see where it leads me.

Another part of my plan is to work full time on my business. Since I lost my “day job” in November, and the bizarre circumstances that caused that to happen, I am even more certain that I was not doing what I should be and it is time for me to follow my heart, dreams, and wishes.

With some people it is so obvious what their gift is. Last night I was lucky to see a surprise performance by Haley Reinhart, a third place American Idol winner. When you listen to her amazing voice and see how she comes alive on stage there is no doubt that her gift is music and she is so living her purpose.

With me I’m afraid the signs are way more subtle but I will not give up. I am resolute and every day I am going to try to make a conscious effort to stay true to who I am. I am curious though, and would love to know if you are living your purpose. Do you know what your special gift to the world is?

Thanks for listening. I’m just blowing bubbles.

  1. My purpose? To be a best friend to those close to my heart, to be a strong moral supporter, to help those in need. My life is no cake walk, but there are people that are a lot worse off than me. My best teachers in life are/were everyday people, and i continue to learn lifes purpose……my purpose……….

  2. I appreciate your transparency about your “purpose” quest! Similarly, I struggled for years to narrow mine down as well. I now know I was born to use my creative, motivational, and organizational gifts to give hope to the hopeless! And what a joy it is! So nice to meet you on the journey!
